Same-Day Care for Oral Surgery Emergencies

Oral and dental emergencies are unpredictable, but our team at Premier Center for Oral, Dental Implant & Facial Surgery is here to provide urgent care for you and your loved ones. Dr. Garibyan and Dr. Kuang are on call at Elliot Hospital and are affiliated with other local hospitals to treat trauma cases. For non-life-threatening conditions, we provide care in the comfort of our office.

If you are experiencing a dental emergency, we will see you the day you call or the following day. No referral is necessary. Contact our oral surgery practice today if you are in severe pain, have a knocked-out tooth, or are experiencing a non-life-threatening oral surgery emergency.

When to See an Oral Surgeon for Emergency Care

If you are in pain and do not know if you need to see an oral surgeon immediately, call our office. Not all instances of dental or facial pain require urgent care, but a member of our team will be happy to advise you on the next steps to take. If it is necessary for you to come in, we will help you see our surgeons.

If you are experiencing any of these conditions, we recommend contacting our office immediately:

  • Moderate-to-severe pain not relieved by pain medications
  • Oral bleeding that cannot be controlled
  • Swelling of the mouth or face
  • Knocked-out tooth

Many of these conditions are accompanied by a great deal of discomfort. Dr. Garibyan and Dr. Kuang will see you as soon as possible to help alleviate your pain and resolve the condition. As board-certified oral & maxillofacial surgeons, they are qualified to safely administer all forms of anesthesia and sedation to provide safety and comfort during an oral surgery emergency.

Treatment for Oral Surgery Emergencies

Your treatment will depend on the location and severity of the issue. When you arrive at our office, we may take 3D scans to get a detailed view of your mouth and face to further assess your condition. Emergency situations can be stressful, and our team is here to walk you through every step of treatment and provide support throughout your care.

If there is bleeding caused by a cut, we may use stitches to close the wound. Severe tooth pain may indicate a deep infection that can be remedied with tooth extraction. If a tooth has been knocked out, we will make every effort to reattach it. Please see our Facial Trauma page for steps on what to do if your tooth gets knocked out. If your natural tooth cannot be saved, we will discuss your tooth replacement options, such as dental implants.
