Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
About Dr. Ilya Garibyan
Dr. Garibyan is from Russia and Israel and is happy to be a part of the Groton community. He became an oral surgeon after being exposed to the specialty during his general practice residency and seeing residents manage trauma, pathology, and implant cases. He finds oral surgery unique because it is the only dental specialty that combines medicine, anesthesia, and surgical procedures. By being able to manage a broad range of conditions, Dr. Garibyan can care for more patients and enjoys combining private and hospital practice to treat complex cases.
Dr. Garibyan and Dr. Kuang were co-residents for four years and after working for other offices, they realized they wanted to offer the full scope of procedures together while providing a concierge service to patients. Together, they opened Premier Center for Oral, Dental Implant & Facial Surgery, a practice centered around patients with a focus on the latest technology advancements in the field.
As a surgeon, Dr. Garibyan often sees patients who are nervous about surgery. To calm their nerves, he develops a personal connection with them and takes the necessary time to explain the procedure. He references previous patients and their success with treatment and always calls his patients afterward to check-in. In addition to the life-changing impact of oral surgery, Dr. Garibyan finds it rewarding to alleviate his patients’ anxiety and contribute to a positive surgical experience.
Dr. Garibyan is on staff at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH, where he accepts facial trauma cases for oral & maxillofacial surgery. He is also a member of the faculty of Tufts University, where he instructs oral surgery residents in facial trauma cases.
