Buccal Fat Removal Procedure
During your consultation, you will meet with one of our surgeons and talk about your cosmetic goals. We will explore all of the cosmetic treatments available so you can make an informed decision on the next steps you’d like to take. If buccal fat removal is right for you, we will schedule a date for you to return to our office for the procedure.
Buccal fat removal only takes a few minutes to complete. It is performed using local anesthesia or IV sedation for your comfort. We will talk about your anesthesia options during the first visit and select the right choice for your procedure.
Your surgeon will make an incision inside the mouth, so scars will not be visible on your face. We will remove the buccal fat and use sutures to close the wound. There is minimal downtime after this procedure. Most patients return to work the next day or the day after.
